Training - Case Study: Thermal Safety of a Batch Reaction

Start

S2S

This case study shows through an example of a batch reaction how to systematically assess the thermal risks related to runaway reactions.

The case study is divided in four lessons:

Lesson 1 is a step by step procedure to allow a preliminary evaluation of the thermal risks related to the process.

Lesson 2 expands the study through the use of more data if the conclusions of the previous lessons are that the risks are not negligeable.

Lesson 3 summarizes the results of the previous lessons by means of the elaboration of a cooling failure scenario.

Lesson 4 studies which measures should be taken to perform the process safely.

You can download below every lesson as a pdf file and browse it contents.
